About Us
Wolverhampton Science Park Ltd was formed in 1993 as a joint venture between the University of Wolverhampton and Wolverhampton City Council.
We are located on a prime site (about 1 mile north of Wolverhampton city centre alongside the main A449 trunk road) providing easy access to the UK motorway network, inter-city rail services and regional airports.
Phase one of our development was completed in 1995 with funding support from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and City Challenge. Thirty thousand square feet of high-quality serviced office accommodation was made available for both new-start and established technology / knowledge based companies. A high-grade conference centre was also incorporated into the building featuring an auditorium and a range of meeting rooms of various sizes along with full catering facilities to meet the requirements of tenant companies and outside clients.
The second development phase was completed in November 2000, again with assistance from ERDF and added a 30,000 square feet extension to our Technology Centre building. Apart from extra office space, this expansion also incorporated space for laboratory or workshop-style activities.
Continuing demand for space, coupled with the expansion needs of existing tenant companies, led to the completion of our third phase in early 2004. The resulting building - The Creative Industries Centre - allowed to scope to specifically address the requirements of creative businesses working in areas of applied digital techniques. A specialist business incubator - under the brand name of SP/ARK - was established at the same time and has since developed an enviable record in assisting new-start businesses through their early growth stages.
Today, Wolverhampton Science Park has become the home for around 100 businesses working in a broad range of technological and creative disciplines including software development, environmental management, engineering design and consultancy, photography and videography, graphics, website design, water technology, training and education, biocidal coatings, healthcare and business support services.
